Declaring results of the democracy watch achievements during 2007

In the framework of the “Situation of Democracy in Egypt”, EACPE monitored all elections witnessed by the Egyptian reality during 2007: Shura Council election; sports and social unities and institutions elections; professional unities elections; businessmen associations elections; trade unions and industrial unions elections; internal elections of political parties; and professional and labor syndicates elections etc…

Monitoring elections aimed at studying every opinion of the parties participating in these elections whether voters; candidates; inspection, administrative and security authorities; media and religious institutions.

The main goal for such exerted effort was to assess democracy status in Egypt by studying and analyzing these elections.  In this context, the Watch drafted its first study regarding the level of democracy development in Egypt during 2007 by following-up viewpoints of all parties participating in the entire electoral process that Egypt witnessed this year.

We are honored to send you the report prepared by the Watch.  Awaiting your feedback and evaluation, regarding this humble effort, in the conference organized by the Association on Monday, March 31st, 2008 held in Pyramisa Hotel from 11am to 1pm.
