In the context of EACPE’s belief in the fundamental importance of active citizenship, and human rights education, its efforts to activate the World Program for Human Rights Education and the Conference conducted in November 2006 for the same purpose, which was attended by all actors, i.e. school teachers, representatives of the Ministry of Education, and human rights activists from Egypt and the Arab region, one of the most important Conference recommendations was the need to establish a national mechanism (network) to activate human rights education in Egypt to coordinate efforts and maximize impact, and to act as a pressure group to influence educational policies.
