حرية الصحافة بين سندان القوانين المقيدة للحريات

ومطرقة قوي الاستبداد والفساد

في إطار أنشطة "مرصد حالة الديمقراطية"، تابع المرصد بقلق بالغ الانتكاسة الجديدة لحرية الرأي والتعبير، التي بدأت بملاحقة رؤساء تحرير الصحف المستقلة والحزبية بأحكام حبس صدرت متتالية في الشهر الماضي.

في يوم 13 / 9 / 2007 أصدرت محكمة جنح العجوزة حكماً في القضية رقم 799 لسنة 2007 ضد كل من رؤساء تحرير صحف [صوت الأمة، والدستور، والفجر، والكرامة] بالحبس لمدة سنة وغرامة عشرون ألف جنية  

Workshop on discussing projects and initiatives of democratic reform

In the last few years, the Egyptian reality has witnessed a number of projects basically aiming at political and democratic reform.  Some of these projects were national and others were regional and international. 
Local reform initiatives, raised by whether the government, or international donors or granting organizations, didn’t lack economical contexts reflected on nationals’ social needs.  In this context;

EACPE invite you to participate in the workshop organized in collaboration with the Arab NGO Network for Development.
The workshop aims at discussing projects and initiatives of democratic reform witnessed by the Egyptian society as well as the economic and social knock-on effects of these projects, and methods of avoiding their impacts on the Egyptian citizen.

The Workshop will be a roundtable in collaboration with intellectuals, researchers, politicians, civil society activists, and syndicates and workers leaders.

The workshop will be held on the 28th and 29th of March, 2008 at Pyramiza Hotel.
